microG (v0.3.15.250932) is an app that pretends to be Google to other apps that require Google services.
Depending on how it is used, either no data or significantly less data is sent to Google.
The microG APK also intentionally uses the same package name as the real Google Play Services (com.google.android.gms) so that apps think real Google services are available.
